Evaluate shooting performance, identify areas of improvement, and track progress over time.
Track the movement of your handgun's barrel during the trigger pull. Shots are grouped according to movement pattern similarity.
Suggestion
Analyzing an individual shot or the group of shots, MantisX provides you with a suggestion that could improve your shooting mechanics. Read the coaching tips to know how to focus your efforts in the next round of shooting.
Mantis X10 Elite
The Mantis X10 Elite comes in at only 14 grams and features all the features of the Mantis X3 plus some additional advanced features:
The Mantis X10 Elite smart sensor mounts on the barrel of any shotgun with a rail or adapter, and connects to the Mantis X Shotgun app on your phone or tablet. Data is streamed and collected real-time from the smart sensor, and analyzed and visualized by the MantisX Shotgun app.
The Mantis X app consists of three main components: individual shot analysis, historical progress, and score keeping.
The shot analysis screens focus on three dimensions: individual shot trace, aggregate shot analysis, and shot scoring. The individual shot trace shows the path and velocity of the gun during the shot. Warning markers will appear along the trace and velocity charts where pushing, jerking, noodling, flinching, and other issues are identified. The aggregate shot analysis overlays all shots from a session together to help identify patterns and consistency issues. The shot scoring captures hit and miss performance to help correlate with issues identified, as misses are highlighted in the aggregate view.
As each shot is taken, hits and misses can be recorded. This data is then displayed for overall shooting performance, highlighted in the aggregate trace comparisons, and grouped together for station statistics.
The Mantis X Shotgun app saves all your session and shot history for review, comparison, and tracking progress over time.
Mantis X10 Elite Recoil Analysis
Finally: the ability to quantify recoil (and recoil management) on a gun, with the all new Mantis X10 Elite.
We have the nerdiest (i.e. best) engineering team in the business, and with the combination of hardware expertise and mind-numbing software algorithms, we've created the first recoil analysis system. Mantis X10 Elite is the first device to accurately and reliably give you data on not just your gun's recoil, but your response to that recoil.
Recoil analysis is available by connecting your MantisX app to a Mantis X10 sensor, then launching the "RecoilMeter" drill. This drill session will allow you to shoot any number of shots, giving you detailed analysis about each shot, and summary data, in a single analysis screen.
Mantis measures and calculates four key components of recoil:
-
Muzzle rise: the peak angular rise of the gun after the shot
-
Recovery time: time for the gun to return and stabilize to the original point of aim
-
Recoil angle: the angle to the left or right that the gun moved as it recoiled upward
-
Recoil width: the width of the loop formed by the upward and downward movement of the gun
Clicking on each measure will show summary data for that session: the session average, and a chart showing detailed comparison for all shots for that measure.
Recoil analysis will continue to evolve forward, so stayed tuned for new updates!
Mantis X10 Elite Holster Draw Analysis
We are excited to bring Holster Draw Analysis to the Mantis X10 Elite! Mantis X10 is the first device to accurately and reliably give you access to unprecedented data to help you improve your holster draw capabilities.
Holster draw analysis is available by connecting your MantisX app to a Mantis X10 sensor, then launching the "Holster Draw Analysis" drill. This drill will allow you to perform any number of holster draws in a session, giving you detailed analysis about each draw, in two diagnostic screens.
In the first screen, MantisX breaks down your holster draw into key phases, to identify inconsistent or slow phases:
-
Grip: time from the start beep to when your hand grips the gun
-
Horizontal: time from the grip to when the gun is drawn and rotated to horizontal alignment
-
Shot: time from Horizontal to when the shot breaks
In the second screen, MantisX displays overlaid traces of all the holster draws in that session. This is valuable in assessing the path of the draw, the consistency of the draws across your session, and highlighting any variance or wobble in your draw.
Holster draw analysis will continue to evolve forward, so stayed tuned for new updates!

Magazine Floor Plate Adapters
Have no rail on your firearm? Magazine floor plate adapters are available for use on almost any pistol!
Universal Floor Plate adapter:
A Picatinny rail adapter that bonds to the bottom of your magazine floor plate so you can attach the MantisX to your firearm.
Note: requires a flat magazine floor plate and bonds with high-strength VHB adhesive tape (included). Yes, it holds up great under live fire conditions. The stuff is quite remarkable. And yes, you can remove it later if you want. When installing it, you'll need to apply pressure, and then let it cure for 20 minutes before using.
STI 2011 Magazine Floor Plate Adapter:
Designed for STI branded 2011 magazines and replaces the factory magazine floor plate.
